The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top advisory body, celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival on Saturday night.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the gathering for the festival, which falls on Sunday, together with more than 400 political advisors and people from all walks of life.

Wang Gang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, extended festival greetings to political advisors across China, and expressed the wish that the country could realize reunification at an early date.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, along with the Spring Festival, or the Chinese Lunar New Year, are traditional Chinese festivals for family reunions.
