Guizhou province will strengthen the development of the tourism industry to make up for economic losses during the early snow havoc. Of the 19 provinces affected by the fierce weather, Guizhou was one of the worst hit, according to the China National Tourism Administration.

Shi Zongyuan, the province's Party chief, said that the province will give priority to the tertiary industries, especially tourism.

Guizhou aims to increase tourism income by 10 billion yuan this year through attracting more inbound and domestic tourists.
