A festival exhibiting Manchu custom was staged in Harbin, the capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to promote local tourism and increase rural income.
Harbin Daily reports that some 150 visitors from the city and other nations were invited to a number of shows in a Manchu village. The shows included a Manchu wedding ceremony and "yangge", a popular rural folk dance.
Local villagers gave each visitor a piece of silk cloth, inviting them to the dance together.
In addition to entertainment, guests were served local dishes, such as stewed glass noodles, vegetables and coagulated pig's blood.
After meals, visitors bought mushrooms and other organic agricultural products from local farmers.
