China's first project to improve human health started Tuesday in Beijing. The project will encourage food manufacturers to add nutritional supplements to food, particularly Fructo-Oligosaccharides, in an effort to combat malnutrition.
An expert on microbiology, Kang Bai, said the addition of oligosaccharides can greatly promote the growth and reproduction of intestinal flora, which play an important role in human health.
Official statistics show malnutrition derived from a microbiological imbalance is one of the most serious threats to human health. |
