China's grain prices were up 3.6 percent in December on the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 9.1 percent, the central bank reported in Beijing on Tuesday.

According to data released by the People's Bank of China, China's corporate goods price (CGP) in December went up 5.1 percent year-on-year, indicating growing inflation pressure.

The CGP index, previously called the wholesale price index, reflects price changes of products traded between companies, and traced overall price fluctuations together with the consumer price index (CPI).

Prices of farm produce went up in December. Soybean prices went up 2.6 percent and products of oil plants rose 4.3 percent from November, said the report.

The overall price of energy resources declined in December. Coke prices went down 0.1 percent, prices of crude oil fell by 1.2 percent and prices of refined oil products were down 0.8 percent from the previous month. Coal prices went up 0.7 percent in December from November.
