Aimed at resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, the upcoming six-party talks will resume in the Chinese capital of Beijing on Monday.
Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing says China hopes the resumption of the talks will help realize the de-nuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
“We hope all parties can seize the opportunity and take positive action to make some substantial progress this time. China will continue to play a constructive role and we will be working closely with others.”
The talks, involving China, North Korea, Japan, Russia, South Korea and the United States, have been stalled since November last year when North Korea refused to return to the negotiation in protest against US sanctions.
Over the past 13 months, the parties concerned have been engaged in a flurry of diplomatic activities in order to resume the talks.
