China Unicom (Macao)'s Deputy General Manager Chen Wu stressed the expo's importance.
"This exhibition is of great importance in enhancing understanding, facilitating exchanges and cooperation, promoting common efforts to grow the ICT industry and bringing into full play the positive role of ICT industry. It also provides a platform to share experiences."
Chinese exhibitors - including companies from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan - occupy 24 per cent of the total space at the exhibition.
An estimated 60,000 visitors will enjoy the mega-telecom event over the course of the week.
David Collins from Australia has spent the whole day touring the displays.
"It's a tremendous event. It's great to see many big companies here try to promote their communications."
China day on Tuesday will be one of the highlights of this year's event, with an opening ceremony, grand VIP lunch, business exchanges and an official reception in the evening.
