The All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the World Federation of Trade Unions are co-hosting the two day International Forum on Economic Globalization and Trade Unions.
President of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions Wang Zhaoguo told the forum China will continue to develop friendly exchanges with international trade unions.
“We will stick to the idea of reciprocal cooperation and surpass any ideological differences to carry out exchanges with foreign trade unions. This way, different cultures can learn from each other and help protect the diversity of trade union cultures, as well as world civilizations.”
Wang Zhaoguo says China will strengthen the exchanges between domestic industrial labor unions and international trade unions.
They will also carry out skills training for workers together and strengthen their coordinative efforts in multinational occasions.
China's trade unions have currently established friendly relations with more than 400 trade unions from 150 countries and regions.
They have conducted a range of cooperative work on labor relations and trade union operation, as well as in economy, culture, science and technology and education.
International trade unions have complemented their Chinese counterparts for what they've accomplished in protecting employees' rights and coordinating labor relations.
Mohammed Shaban Azouz is president of World Federation of Trade Unions.
“We expect to learn from the Chinese trade unions. They never gave up protecting the legal rights of workers during the country's economic reform process. While protecting the profits of the country and ordinary citizens, they also stressed the protection of workers' rights. We speak highly of the successful experience our Chinese friends have achieved in this field.”
Foreign trade union representatives also pledged they to work with China to meet the challenges brought by globalization and better protect workers' rights.
The forum is the third of its kind. The last two also focused on big issues relating to globalization and trade unions.
