China has called for all concerned countries to take hold of the current opportunity and make every effort to resume the stalled six-party talks on the North Korean nuclear issue.
China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Jiang Yu, made the remarks on Thursday at a regular press conference.
"China will maintain contact with all parties. We hope the participants of the talks will grasp the current opportunity and take an active stance to secure an early resumption of the six-party talks."
Jiang also revealed that foreign ministers from APEC member countries exchanged views on the Korean issue at a breakfast meeting during the same day and unanimously agreed to promote the six-party talks.
