The National Exhibition on Russia opened in Beijing on Friday, showcasing the country's progress across a number of fields, like high-tech, aviation and forestry.
Eight Russian government departments, including the Russian Aviation and Space Agency, and a number of private companies put their latest scientific achievements and products on exhibit.
They were hoping to attract Chinese partners for further cooperation.
The Marketing Manager for the Russian Universal Apparatus Institute said his company wanted to broaden its cooperation with Chinese counterparts.
"I only want to express the hope that our cooperation in the future will be much broader. Like the scope of cooperation on the sea-launch project between Russia, the United States, Ukraine and Norway. This is our hope."
Another exhibitor said he wanted to promote a new robot designed to perform security checks.
"There will be great interest before the Olympics Games. So we brought it here to show and maybe we'll find somebody who will be interested."
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov attended the opening ceremony.
Premier Wen Jiabao praised the exhibition at the opening ceremony, saying it would help Chinese people learn about Russia's economic development, scientific advances and cultural progress.
And Hu Weijia, a Russian Professor of Chinese studies, was delighted to see the exhibition so warmly received.
"I am honored that so many Chinese people have become interested in our exhibition. In Russia, we have well prepared for next year's events. This is not an end, but a start."
While the National Exhibition on Russia marks the end of Year of Russia in China, the Year of China in Russia will start in just two months.
Billions of Russian and Chinese people worked hard to make this year a success.
