The Beijing Games Organizing Committee, or BOCOG, says they expect to sell seven million tickets to the 2008 Olympics.
Rong Jun from BOCOG's marketing department says 70% of the tickets will be sold in China and 30% overseas.
The ticket prices have yet to be decided, but BOCOG has vowed it will consider affordability, as well as the interests of the sponsors and the value of the Olympic trademark.
Rong Jun adds tickets for the opening ceremony will be limited.
"The opening ceremony will be held at the national stadium in Beijing. While around 91,000 seats are available, only some 60,000 tickets can be sold because the rest of the seats are already reserved, for the media, for example. "
BOCOG says people will be able to buy their tickets through the internet, a telephone hotline or in person. But it will limit the number of tickets each person can buy to prevent people flogging them on the black-market.
Beijing Gehua Ticketmaster has been selected as the exclusive supplier of the Games' ticketing services.
