Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Zhang Mingri, said in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi that the approaching Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit and the third Ministerial Meeting is the largest diplomatic ceremony ever in the Chinese history.
"I believe this meeting will deepen mutual understanding and friendship between China and Africa, push China-Africa cooperation to a wider range and higher level, as well as develop utility between developing countries, strengthen South-South Cooperation and promote global peace and development."
Scheduled for November 3rd to 5th, the summit, and the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, or FOCAC, will focus on "friendship, peace, cooperation and development." A series of symposiums on economic cooperation, training of professionals and business investment will be held during the gathering.
FOCAC is a mechanism for collective dialogue and cooperation jointly established by China and Africa to cope with new challenges and facilitate common development.
Since its launch in 2000, two ministerial conferences have been held in Beijing and Addis Ababa.
