Heavy rains have finally relieved the worst drought in the history of southwest China's Chongqing city.
The drought had lasted for more than 80 days. To increase the volume of rainfall in the area, the municipal government has also created artificial rain. Citizens are happy about the long awaited rainfall.
“We have been longing for the rain for more than two months. It is so hot in Chongqing. I’ve never experienced such hot weather, not since I was a child. The rain is right on time.”
Along with the rainfall, the high temperature in Chongqing has slid down some 10 degrees. The municipal observatory forecasts that the city will have more rainfall, as high temperatures continue to decrease.
