Six Yangtze alligators were artificially hatched Thursday via a method of man-controlled temperatures at the Wannan First-aid Center for Wild Animals in Xiuning, east China's Anhui province.
It is the first ever successful case of artificially hatched alligators in the country, reports China News Service.
The hatching with changing temperatures took 70 days, 20 days longer than hatching alligators under stable temperatures.
According to staff at the center, alligators hatched with varying temperature usually have much stronger health and fit the environment more easily.
At present, five of the alligators are in good condition, with one less developed still in incubator under intensive care.
