Sao Paulo Announces New Arrival for 2009 Season

This year's winner of the Brazilian soccer championship, Sao Paulo, announced on Saturday their latest addition to the team for the 2009 season.

The team's newest addition is midfielder Eduardo Costa, signing a three year deal. Costa is the second addition to the team, following Wagner Diniz.

Costa comes to Sao Paulo from Gremio. The 26 year old athlete has also made an appearance for the Brazilian national soccer team under Luiz Felipe Scolari. Apart from Gremio, Costa has played for Espanyol, Bordeaux and Olympique of Marseille.

"He is a player who is full of determination. He is exactly what our team needs for the Libertadores Cup, our main goal for the 2009 season," said the team's director, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes.

"The expectation at Sao Paulo is that I will be able to help them win the continental tournament. I am being hired to help, to support and to bring home a title. Anyone who comes to this club has to come in with this mentality. I hope to fulfill my duty become champion," stated Costa.
