South Korean football coach Chang Woe-ryong said Wednesday that he has agreed to direct the Japanese football club Omiya Ardija next year.
Chang, 49, who headed Incheon United FC from 2004 to 2008, said he has signed a one-year deal to lead the Japanese top-tier J-League football club.
"I need to improve my competitiveness and brave risks because I am someone who dreams of being an Olympic coach," Chang told local media.
Chang said he hopes his experience in the more competitive J- League will better qualify him to head South Korea's 2012 Olympic squad.
The Incheon United FC said it support Chang's decision.
