Vereran Li Nan Saves Bayi for Big Win

Veteran captain Li Nan scored 11 out of 22 points down the stretch to lead Bayi Fubang to a 105-103 breath-taking win over leaders Jiangsu Dragons on Wednesday in the eighth round of the CBA league.

The 34-year-old guard scored 11 consecutive points to initiate a 12-4 run when Bayi were down 99-93 with less than two minutes left in the game.

His third 3-pointer gave the home team a 104-101 lead before Yi Li had two free-throws for Jiangsu. Mo Ke had the last point of the game to give Bayi the fifth win out of eight matches.

Wang Zhizhi had the game-high 32 points and 10 rebounds while Mo added 20 for Bayi. Donnell Harvey led Jiangsu with 27 points and 16 rebounds.

Zhejiang Guangsha denied a triple-double efforts from Prist Lauderdale to beat Shandong Gold 97-95 in overtime.

Lauderdale had 22 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocks while teammate Mack Tuck chipped in 30 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for Shandong.

Nigel Dixon, who had 25 points and 13 rebounds for Zhejiang, made a jumper with 4.3 seconds to go in the regular time to tie it on 92-92.

Xinjiang Guanghui took the top places on the standings with a 101-75 thrash over Qingdao DoubleStars, followed by the second-placed Dongguan Marco Polo, which overwhelmed Zhejiang Cyclones 115-97.

In Wednesday's other matches, Fujian SBS defeated Yunnan Honghe 115-99, Changchun Dacheng edged off Liaoning Hunters 119-113, Beijing Ducks nailed down Shanxi Zhongyu 110-105 while Shannxi Yalv crushed Tianjing Ronggang 114-87.

In Tuesday's game, Guangdong Dongguan Bank handed the eighth loss to Shanghai Sharks by 122-110.
