Defending champion David Nalbandian of Argentina entered the last 16 of the Paris Masters by beating Germany's Nicolas Kiefer 7-6 (5), 6-3 on Wednesday.
Nalbandian will next take on compatriot Juan Martin del Potro.
Frenchman Gilles Simon also reached the last 16 by coming back from 0-4 down in the second set to eliminate Russian Igor Andreev 6-3, 7-5. The 10th seed will play U.S. world number six Andy Roddick.
