Organizer unveiled routes for the upcoming Jordan's Middle East Rally Championship round based on the tracks used earlier this year for the kingdom's debut World Rally Championship (WRC) round, local daily The Jordan Times reported on Tuesday.
Participants will face 262 of the most challenging kilometers ever offered for a round of the Middle East Championship in a two- day-competition in and around the Dead Sea, said Jordan Motorsport, organizer and manager of the Rally which is slated between October 16 and 18.
"Everyone is a winner at this year's Middle East event," said Randa Nabulsi, the clerk of the course. "The drivers will be challenged by a WRC track while the fans will enjoy breathtaking locations and action."
Day one will see nine tough stages taking in some of Jordan's most celebrated tourism site, including Mount Nebo and the Baptism Site, with action going from 750 meters above to 400 below sea level.
The next day will follow a similar trail to the east and north of the Dead Sea.
Most of the competitive kilometers were used for the WRC and are easy to access by spectators.
The headquarters of the Middle East Rally Championship round will be at the Movenpick Hotel and the service park will be located at the specially created facility on the banks of the Dead Sea. |
