    2007-09-02 14:09:42     Xinhua

Fourteen years old Tahitian Ocean Belrose and his partner eighteen year old Rachel Hsiao won the gold medals of the mixed match Saturday in Apia at 2007 South Pacific Games.

They have proven skills and desire to win in a tight five set match against Alize Belrose and his partner Cyrine Sam also from Tahiti.

In the second round the young pair defeated 3-0 the number one seeds Wang Qi and Rujuan Qu. They next defeated Vanuatu's Ham Lulu and Priscila Tommy, in the semi-final they defeated fellow Tahitians Tinohau Klouman and Melveen Richmond 3-2.

Tahitian Table Tennis Federation President Gerald Huioutu said it was the first time Ocean has competed in the South Pacific Games but the second for Rachel.

Ocean said he was very happy as it is the first time he played in a tournament like this.

The bronze medals went to Yoshua Shing and Analyn Lulu from Vanuatu who won 3-1 and spoiled Tahiti's chance of taking out all the medals in the mixed doubles.
