Chinese captain Zheng Zhi said on Sunday he hopes to play in European soccer clubs again.
"I am hoping to move back to Europe again and right now, my agent is trying to secure a deal for me," he said.
"I enjoyed playing at the English Premiership side Charlton Athletic, I benefited a lot from it and I hope that the experience I gained from playing there can help my national team at the Asian Cup," said Zheng.
He also saw the Asian Cup as a chance to enhance his reputation to return to European soccer fields.
"But for sure, the Asian Cup is a big chance to make an impression and to win another move to Europe, "said Zheng.
China will play against co-host Malaysia on July 10 in its opening match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
