Young Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo is in the spotlight on Manchester United's official website, in lieu of his been chosen to play in China national football team in the up-coming Asian Cup 2007.

Since Tuesday, the heading "Dong in Asian Cup Squad" could be found on the website's homepage. Under the heading of column "Today on Manutd.com" can be seen a news report saying: "United striker Dong Fangzhuo has been named in China's 23-man squad to play in July's Asian Cup competition."

The website also noted that Dong Fangzhuo performed well in China's friendly matches against some America teams earlier this month.

China's portal website Sina suggests that the team's boss Sir Alex Ferguson is worried about the team's future prospects as Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have just undergone surgery, while Alan Smith and Giuseppe Rossi are about to leave.

Even worse, he hasn't found a new striker yet. If China's young talent can improve his distinctive playing style during the Asian Cup, it will greatly increases his chances of staying on with the side.
