Turin Olympic champion Wang Meng will return to the national short track speed skating team next week, after she was banned from the international games for criticizing her coach at the Winter Asiad.

Report from the Xinhua news agency said that Wang has been enlisted in the newly-formed national squad.

The 23-member new national team will be built up on May 9.

Wang, double gold winner at January's Winter Asian Games in Changchun, was banned from competing at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships and World Team Championships in March.

The punishment from the Winter Sports Administrative Center came in response to Wang's attack on new team coach Li Yan during the Games.

Wang threatened to quit the team after winning a bronze in the women's short track 1,500m, blaming Li for misguided race tactics.
