Mao Jianqing scored China's first goal 27 minutes into the game. Sun Xiang added another goal in the 65th minute to set the winning tune for China.

China went into the game without several key players who are either injured or suspended.

But a determined team managed to break through a weak opposition of the Palestinians.

The victory took China to 10 points, the same as the Iraqis who had earlier beat Singapore 4-2 to advance to the next stage.

China and Iraq will cross swords on November 15th to wind up their last group match.
