Women Team Beaten by Canada 65-61

The Chinese women's basketball team was beaten by Team Canada 65-61 at the ongoing World Championships in Brazil on Thursday morning.

Chen Nan led China with a game-high score of 21 points, while WNBA player Miao Lijie added 20.

Miao and Chen led the Chinese team to a 17-15 advantage over Canada at the end of the first quarter.

The Canadians equalized the score to 17-all after Amanda Brown sank a two-point shot, and managed to outpace China 32-24 after the second quarter.

The Chinese women reduced the deficit to only one point, 36-35, in the third quarter, but failed the save the team from defeat as they ended the game 65-61.

Team China is now 3-4 and will close out its World Championships run against Cuba in the 11th place game.
