Chinese women's basketball team beat Nigeria 71-59 in the last round of the World Championship Preliminary Group phase on Friday (Beijing time), clinching a spot in the last 12.

"We were prepared for this game. We did the best we could and we are very happy with this victory," said Chen Xiaoli, China's 1.92m center.

She scored the team's second highest 20 points for the Asian powerhouse.

Guard Miao Lijie contributed 22 points and 5 assists, both the highest in the match.

China will next face Czech Republic in Eight-Final Round Group F on Saturday.
