Shenhua Sink Guo'an, Jinde Win Liaoning Derby

Super-league powerhouse Shanghai Shenhua has upset Beijing Guoan with a narrow 1-0 score, while Shenyang Jinde landed a 1-0 derby victory over Liaoning on Saturday.

Shenhua and Guoan shared third place in the league standings before the match. Each of them needed a win to move upward.

The two teams both had clear-cut chances in the match. But the only man who scored was Shen Longyuan of Shenhua. The midfielder caught the ball as it was passed from teammate Gao Lin and made a close-range shot in the 53rd minute.

Shenhua was awarded three points from the victory to move to second in league table, while Guoan dropped to fourth.

In another match on Saturday, Shenyang Jinde outnumbered Liaoning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Chen Tao in the 33rd minute.

Following the win, Jinde pulled clear of the relegation zone in the 15-team league.
