Qiang Wei, also deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, made the remarks on Monday during an inspection tour of the Chaoyang Sports Center, venue of the event to be held from August 15 to 20.
The championships will see the debut of the Olympic security pattern, featuring deployment of security forces in line with the content of large-scale sport games or public functions as well as the amount of spectators. In addition, security check on spectators will be done at a distant area, compared to the previous check mode confining spectators to the gate of a competition venue.
At present, local police, security and volunteers have finished their training necessary for the event and the security team has conducted several trials in advance. Security facilities are all in place.
