Chinese coach Shang Ruihua has an injury-free squad to pick from for the opening game of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Championship against Finland in Moscow on August 17.
China won the AFC U-19 Championship in Malaysia in April to qualify for the FIFA competition and Shang's team will be aiming to improve on last edition's runners-up finish which saw them lose to Germany in the final 2-0 in Thailand.
The other Asian teams vying for glory in Moscow are Asian U-19 runners-up DPR Korea and newcomers Australia.
"The team is in good shape and free from injury," said coach Shang. "We have just now finished a tour of the United States and Canada during which we played two matches each against our counterparts."
"Our first priority is to finish among the top two in the group and qualify for the quarterfinals."
Shang said the recent crowning of China as the AFC Women's Asian Cup champions in Adelaide would provide a boost to the juniors. "Our senior national team has just won the AFC Women's Asian Cup in Australia and some of the players from this team like Ma Xiaoxu and Zhang Yanru will play a key role here," said Shang.
"Against Australia in the final, Xiaoxu equalised for China in the second half and goal-keeper Yanru saved two crucial penalties in the penalty shoot-out. Their contribution was important in China reclaiming the top prize in Asian women's football after seven years."
The Asian champions face African champions Nigeria in the second game on August 20 before going up against Canada three days later.
