Alexander Frei scored twice including a penalty while Marco Streller also netted a pair of goals as Kobi Kuhn's side maintained their impressive form in the build-up to the tournament.

China's consolation goal came in injury time with a strike from Dong Fangzhou.

The Chinese almost took the lead after 25 minutes when Peng Han rattled the post with a header.

Five minutes before the break Frei put the Swiss in the lead when he converted a cross from Raphael Wicky after good build-up play from David Degen.

Degen also set up the second just after the interval when China goalkeeper Li Leilei could only punch the ball onto Streller and watch the ball go in.

Just two minutes later a foul on Ludovic Magnin allowed Frei to claim his second goal as he converted a penalty.

In a game where there were many substitutions, Hakan Yakin came on late. Yakin has been called up as a replacement for the injured Jonathan Vonlanthen although his name has not yet been communicated to FIFA.

Substitute Xavier Margairaz then created the fourth goal for Streller.

All that remained was for Dong to salvage some pride for the world's most populous nation who did not qualify for this year's tournament.

It was another good effort from the Swiss who had come into the match on the back of 1-1 draws with the Ivory Coast and Italy.
