Chinese Women Singles Routed at French Open

The Chinese campaign in women singles at this year's French Open tennis tournament has finally concluded, with Li Na and Zheng Jie both being cut Friday.

Li Na had to concede defeat to Russian eighth-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova 3-6, 6-7 (4/7) in a third round game.

Zheng Jie was beaten earlier by Croatian Ivana Lisjak 6-4, 6-4 in a round 2 game that was postponed due to rainy weather.

In women doubles event, Olympic champions Li Ting and Sun Tiantian were blocked out of the last 16.
