A soldier in jungle fatigues aims his gun at a somewhat surprised adversary, who himself realizes he has already been shot when he notices a blood-red pool accumulating on his jacket.
This is no Hollywood movie, nor is it war coverage from Iraq. This is a typical scene from a paintball field that can be witnessed any given weekend in Beijing.

Paintball is an extremely popular pastime among youngsters who crave the action of a battlefield. Participants get a gun loaded with plastic bullets containing red dye before being divided into two teams. The team who gets the "enemy's flag" first is designated the winner.
Several clubs around Beijing promote the sport, so that during the weekend you can easily find at least one camp of paintball lovers enjoying the game.
And to people playing the game for the first time, paintball must be an unforgettable experience.
Liu Lu and her colleagues made their debut on a paintball field in Beijing over the weekend.
"I love this Game...I feel good... Exciting..."
"It's not so fearful as I had expected previously. Even through it is a very exciting experience for me."
"I really like it. I think it is a challenge to myself."
"It is not as exciting as I expected. The battle should be much fiercer."
After two and a half hour fight, Liu and her "Red Army" successfully took the "enemy's flag" to win the game.
Gao Peng, captain of the winner, attributes the success of his team to the efforts of all its members.
"I'd just like to say that our team is the best. Everyone has amazing team spirit."
He said that all of his fellow teammates enjoyed the game and hoped to come back to battle again soon.
Paintball was invented by two Americans in 1981. Since its first introduction to China in 1994, there are now more than 100 paintball clubs scattered across the country.
