Beijing has decided to spend 6 million yuan or about 750,000 US dollars on renovating the toilets in its subway stations in 2007, Beijing Morning Post reports. Sixty-four public toilets at stations across the city's two main subway lines will be upgraded to satisfy the same standards as the bathrooms at quality hotels.
The Beijing Subway Company has already started the initial work, which includes equipping stalls with toilet paper rolls and sending cleaners to maintain the facilities.
