Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has announced to launch a new service called "Hong Kong Cell Phone Tourism Ambassador" on Friday .

From now on, Visitors to Hong Kong can easily get travel information anytime or anywhere with the aid of "Hong Kong Cell Phone Tourism Ambassador"-a cell phone service powered by telecom-technology.

The new service is designed to help visitors get travel information through their own cell phone, as long as their cell phone applied this service.

The new service represents the first ever collaboration between the tourism and telecom industries of Hong Kong, marking a milestone in Hong Kong tourism.

Zang Minghua, the chief officer of HKTB, said that this newly-offered tourism service reveals the great support given by Hong Kong Telecom Industry to its Tourism Industry.

More and more independant travellers, people who travel without the tour operators, flock to Hong Kong in recent years. They are more demanding in getting more travel informations, such as background info, tips and so on.

According to statistical results given by HKTB, up to 85% tourists to Hong Kong travel this way. Meanwhile about 75% tourists use their mobile phone during their stay.

That's where the idea of providing "Hong Kong Cell Phone Tourism Ambassador" service comes from.

Now visitors could get latest travel information from their mobile phones through the"Hong Kong Cell Phone Tourism Ambassador" service, such as scenic spots introduction, latest shopping/festival info, and complete food recommendations.
