Bo Xilai: Sino-US Trade Balanced

Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai says Sino-US trade is balanced in spite of a substantial US trade deficit.

Speaking in Beijing at the China Development Forum, the minister indicated that there is a huge difference in trade statistics between China and the US due to the use of different methods of calculation in the two countries.

He said US exporters benefit more than their Chinese counterparts and many China-made commodities are actually good for US consumers due to low costs.

He continued to say that many export trade businesses in China are run by US companies.

The minister concluded by saying that given present circumstances, Sino-US trade is balanced.
