C: Dampen comes from the root word, damp, which means wet. So if you dampen something, you pour water on it or make it wet. It's a term used to bring somebody down, or to temper something. C: A bounce is what happens when a ball or object hits something. Some balls, like tennis balls, bounce very high. Other balls, like a medicine ball, have no bounce at all. The term is often used in sports, such as "good bounce" or "lucky bounce" meaning the ball bounced the right way for a goal or a good chance.

C: go all out means a 100% effort. It means you give everything you've got, and try your hardest.

C: A goal, in a sports context, is when the ball goes into the net.
S: goal 射门得分。比如皇家马德里以3比2赢了现代队。Real Madrid beat Hyundai by 3 to 2. I think Beijing had gained glory for our Chinese by the two goals.
C: Snub means purposely ignore. If you have a good friend and you don't invite him or her to a party on purpose, you have snubbed them.
S: snub 冷落、怠慢。比如她对邻居不理不睬有意冷落，she snubbed her neighbors. 新闻中说有些球迷对皇马三年之后的这次中国行表现很冷淡。However, some fans snubbed Real Madrid's second exhibition trip to Beijing in three years.
C: sole means only.
S: sole 唯一的。比如说财产的唯一继承人the sole heir to the fortune, 事故发生的唯一原因the sole reason for the accident. 门户网站新浪上展开了一项调查，结果显示96%的被访者认为皇马来中国唯一目的就是赚钱。In an earlier internet survey conducted by Chinese portal website, sina.com.cn, over 96 percent of participants thought Real came to China with the sole goal of making money.
