Chinese "Friends" to Begin Shooting
2005-8-7 13:06:15
A Chinese sitcom named "Friends", based on the former hit American series of the same name, has finished two years of preparation and has begun shooting.
The sitcom's screenwriters have promised that the Chinese "Friends" won't be a copy of the American one, and will feature original stories about the lives and attitudes of young Chinese.
A nationwide casting call was carried out to find the six principal cast members.
The director of the sitcom is an American named Andy who has also worked on such films as "The Last Emperor" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith".

The Chinese "Friends" has adopted the same schedule of release as the American "Friends": forty espisodes per season.
