"Nanjing1937" Meets Audience

The original dance drama "Nanjing1937" made its debut Monday night in Beijing.

It was the first time the Nanjing Massacre has been portrayed through dance drama.

The dance drama starts with heart conversation between Chinese-American author Iris Chang and an American who rescued many Chinese civilians during the Nanjing massacre.

The audience was touched by the female solo-dance, part of the drama.

After researching the Nanjing massacre, Iris Chang wrote her famous book "the Rape of Nanking", but she fell into depression because of the tragedy and committed suicide in 2004.
