The 40-episode Chinese TV drama "Moment In Peking"(¾©»ªÑÌÔÆ) will hit screens on CCTV1 at the end of this month.
The Chinese state television has spent 600,000 Yuan, or over 72,000 US dollars, for the screening of each episode of the TV series, which also marked a record high in Chinese TV series made by the "Han Wu Emperor"(ººÎä´óµÛ) at the beginning of this year.
With an investment of 30 million Yuan, about 3.5 million US, dollars "Moment In Peking", an adaption from renowned Chinese writer Lin Yutang's classic of the same name, stars Chen Baoguo and Vicky Zhao, who shot to fame in a TV series based on celebrated Taiwan novelist Qiong Yao's classics.
This is Vicky Zhao's first performance after her 4 years of silence in the film circle.
Different from the former hoyden roles in Qiong Yao's classics, Vicky Zhao said she played a soft and modest girl in the new TV series, a big change in her performing direction.
