Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, who starred in this year's only Oscar-nominated Chinese movie House of Flying Daggers, is still feeling positive even though the movie lost out at Oscars.
The movie's Chinese cinematographer Zhao Xiaoding failed to win the best cinematography award, with the prize going to the Martin Scorcese's movie The Aviator.
"Zhao is the only nominated Asian, so he has already won glory for all the Chinese people no matter whether he captured the award or not," Zhang Ziyi said.
For his part, Zhao also had something to say: "All of the nominated cinematographers are excellent and their films have different strengths. House of Flying Daggers is a typical Zhang Yimou film with his trademark story-telling style, which is already familiar to American moviegoers," Zhao said.
