The Long Islands (Changdao) lie between the Jiaodong and the Liaodong Peninsula: 32 islands with different features.
The Islands have fantastic rocks, elegant scenery, warm climate and rich tour resources such as the Half Moon Bay, the Jiuzhang Cliff, the Wangfu Rock, the Forest Park, the Changshan End, the Pagoda Rock, the Dragon-claw Hill, the Mituo Rock, the Daheishan Island (Big Black Hill Island), the Birds Island, the Temple Island, the Birds Exhibition Center and the Boundary Memorial of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea.
The Cheyou Island (the Birds Island) is the kingdom of birds, where you'll find tens of thousands of birds of various species. The Daheishan Island is home to more than ten thousand snakes. Other famous islands are Zushan Island with its bamboo forests and the rock-serried Huoji Island.
The major popular islands are the South Changshan Island (South Long Hill), the North Changshan Island (North Long Hill) and the Temple Island.
The Long Islands are also famous for a mirage phenomenon that occurs especially after showers in July or August.

Transportation
Frequent ferries (30 minutes and RMB12) connect the Long Islands and Penglai. Bus at the long distance bus station can take you to the Changdao county. For going to the islands, there are ferry services. Cheyou Island can be reached by sea in 1.5 hours. (Source: ctrip.com)
