Twenty sites related to the history of the Communist Party of China have been designated as "Red Tourism" destinations by the Shanghai Tourism Administrative Committee.

One of the 20 sites includes the location where the first Communist Party national conference was held in 1921.

Dao Shuming, vice director of the local tourism board, says visiting red tourist sites honours those who sacrificed themselves for China, helps improve team spirit, and boots enthusiasm toward life and work.

Red tourism refers to sites related to the development of the Communist Party and China's liberation in 1949.
