Gaobeidian Village in Beijing¡¯s eastern Chaoyang district has welcomed its first batch of foreign visitors.
This village is located 8 kilometers east of Tiananmen Square and boasts thousands of years of history.
Gaobeidian provides a glimpse of China¡¯s traditional culture, and gives visitors the chance to stay in an authentic village environment.
The director of Chaoyang Tourism Bureau said that Beijing will introduce more family hotels 2008.
There are 70 folk custom villages in Beijing that received more than 3 million foreign visitors in 2004.
