"Red Tourism" is under spotlight this year in China with Tianjin introducing nine tourist routes with the theme of "recalling the history of revolution, re-marching on the road to victory".

Xinhua reports that by 2007, 12 major "red tourist areas" will come into being throughout the country. With distinguished themes, convenient transportation and decent service, they'll become mature and influential tourist destinations for domestic and international travelers.

The nine red tourist routes in Tianjing includes trips in the city and across provinces, covering many famous historical and revolutionary spots such as the Tianjin Museum of CPC History, the former residences of Mao Zedong in Tianjin, Xibaipo and the site of the Zunyi Meeting.
