Its natural landscape is noted as one of the "Five Natural Wonders" of Huanglong.

Traveling 18km eastwards from Huanglong Valley, you arrive at the arduous but gallant Danyunxia (Red-Cloud Gorge) Scenic Spot. Its natural landscape is noted as one of the "Five Nature Wonders" of Huanglong. And abundant tree species, shrubs and grasses are already excited awaiting plant enthusiasts from afar.

The scenic sight starts from the Yusun Peak and ends at Sanzi Grotto, with a total length of 18.5 km and a drop fall of 1,300m.The elevation between varies from 1,000 to 2,000m. It is covered by snow in winter and green plants in summer. Spring is the best season to see crimson azaleas all over the mountain, and autumn spreads maple leaves all your way like red clouds suddenly befalling from heaven. Hence the name "Danyunxia" - Red Cloud Valley. Fog rises every day in Danyunxia, lingering on hillsides where visitors seem to find themselves in a fairyland.

With dense forests, the Fujiang River that originates from Xuebaoding, lumps along over peculiar cobbles, like a white dragon waving its head and tail through woods and echoing the Yellow Dragon at a distance. If Huanglong Valley is compared to a magnificent symphony, Danyunxia can be an unpredictable colored gallery.

Huajiao Valley

It is the first landscape of Danyunxia, and so named because Huajiao (Bunge prickly ash) trees grow all over the place. Touring in the scenic spot, you may find yourself surrounded with dense woods, where wild flowers are in full bloom, rattans circle around huge tree trunks. In autumn, the mountain becomes crimson and forests are dyed in rich colors. You might find no other landscapes like that.

Yusun (Bamboo Shoot) Cliff

In this narrow valley, countless bamboo shoots spring up after rain. Nearby are century-old pines and cypresses growing on cliffs. Some are as old as hundreds of years: the stronger ones look like warriors in armors, and the slim ones resemble knight-errant with swords on the back who seems to be on loyal guard of the ancient trail. Shouting at the bottom, visitors may hear their lingering echoes. It is said the resonance of water noise and human shouting may travel dozens of kilometers afar.
