Beijing's World Heritage site, the Imperial Palace, is soliciting public opinion on the choice of an emblem, which is to become its official symbol.
The Beijing Morning News reports that six candidate emblems have been chosen by a special panel, from a pool of nearly 2,800 proposed designs.
People can view the emblems online and vote for the favorite one until mid February on the official website of the Imperial Palace, www.dpm.org.cn.
The paper says that opinions submitted online will serve as an imporant reference during the selection process.
