Visitors and Beijing locals will be able to enjoy the performance, visual art, cinema, music, and exhibition during the 2nd Dashanzi International Art Festival, which will open on April 30th.

The 2nd Dashanzi International Art festival (DIAF) will be held at Dashanzi Art District in eastern Beijing this upcoming Saturday, April 30th.

This year DIAF has invited many artists from many different backgrounds and nationalities to serve the purpose of staging a lively dialogue between citizens and contemporary culture through a wide range of events: from visual art, live music, dance and theatre, to performance art, multimedia, design, architecture to film projections.

Additionally, a large march called ¡°A Short Step,¡± organized by Kilometer Zero, an organization of foreign artists and writers based in Paris, will take place on May 1st marking the opening of the annual Dashanzi International Art Festival. 400 foreigners wearing traditional Chinese blue factory worker suits will walk from the Lido Hotel to the Dashanzi 798 Factory District.

The month- long DIAF is a large scale event held once a year in the Spring. It plays an active role in the enhancement of Beijing as a centre for contemporary culture, reflecting its art to a global audience.
