Chinese Duo Win First Diving Gold at Worlds
2005-7-18 7:48:36    CRIENGLISH.com
China's Jia Tong and Yuan Peilin won the women's 10m platform synchronized diving gold at the ongoing World Swimming Championships in Montreal.

The two teenagers led every round, finishing with a total of 351.69 points, although their final dive was their least polished.

The victory meant China retained the title won in Barcelona by Lao Lishi and Li Ting.

Australia's Chantelle Newbery and Loudy Tourky took silver, while Canadians Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion thrilled the home crowd by taking the bronze.

China were also the frontrunners in the men's 3m springboard synchronized final scheduled for later this day.
