Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel pocketed his second successive Dakar Rally title while compatriot Cyril Despres made it a double French celebration by taking the motorcycle honors.
The 39-year-old Peterhansel, who has previously won the motorbike title six time, finished 27 minutes 14 seconds ahead of compatriot and fellow Mitsubishi driver Luc Alphand in the overall standings.
The 16th and final 31-km special stage around Lac Rose, a lake north of Dakar, was provisionally won by Bruno Saby in a Volkswagen.
Chinese driver Zhou Yong drove a Paladin to finish 19th in the grilling event, followed by Xu Lang on the 44th and Lu Ningjun 55.
Despres, riding a KTM, wrapped up the overall motorcycle title by 9:17 from teammate Marc Coma after cruising in 16th on the final stage, which was won by American Kellon Walch.
