The Grand Palais, one of the architectural jewels of the French capital Paris, reopens this weekend after a 12-year renovation, as part of an open house for French cultural treasures.
Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, the French Culture Minister says that various kinds of exhibitions concerning the beauty of France will be on display.
"It was built one century ago and now we plan many exhibitions, art, music, dance, theatre, circus. Everything that concerns the beauty of our country."
An exhibition of images of Louisiana, particularly New Orleans' French Quarter will be held in this noted public resort.
A visiting Frenchman says that the charm of the Grand Palais is beyond his expectation.
"Let's say that when you see it on television it's nice, it's pretty obvious, but when you see it for real you get the sense of the size of it. It's extraordinary, it's really very, very beautiful."
The building has undergone 123 million US dollars renovation.
Meanwhile, the annual European Heritage Days open to the public this weekend in Paris, highlighting 16,000 historical sites in France, and 33,000 in countries across Europe.
